Maintaining and updating social media pages (X/Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook). Ideation and execution of special/holiday day posts.
Ideation and execution of monthly marketing campaigns. Deliverables include social media posts (horizontal and vertical layouts depending on platform location), promotion landing pages on the website, and email blasts.
All tasks above are collaborated with the direct supervisor, where corrections or suggestions are made by him and then executed by me.
Whitlock Business Systems (WBS for short) is a manufacturing and communication logistics company providing solutions for all types of businesses. Their services include commercial printing, direct mailing, eProcurement, data management, etc.
My area of focus in the company is graphic design and marketing for the company through social media, emails, and promotional campaigns.
When I took over Whitlock's social media pages, I needed to update the profile image to align with the brand. The main logo, however, wasn't suitable for a 1:1 ratio. To address this, I used the white "W" and placed it inside a circle filled with the brand's burgundy color. The circle was outlined with a half green and half orange stroke, reflecting the original identity's colored baseline. The design was so successful that it became the company's short-form identifier.
I designed this identifier independently.
WBS features a monthly campaign offering a discount or free product. When designing, I follow the brand's font and color guidelines. The images were gathered from Adobe Stock and would be relevant to the promotion's theme.
Written content was a collaborative effort, while I handled the design independently. Below are some of the campaigns:
For September's promotion we highlighted that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering to print a free Breast Cancer Awareness Banner for every order over a certain dollar amount.
Guided by the tagline "We Are Stronger Together," I made it the first header the viewer encounters. This quote inspired the photo chosen—an impactful image of a group of women supporting each other with reassuring smiles. For the email's hero image, I added the header with a white ribbon to help ground the text and create visual movement within the composition.
A social media post with a video, a landing page for social media users, and an email to existing customers are included.
Alongside our Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, we promoted a giveaway for a free Yeti Cooler for our existing customers after completing a survey. The promotional images feature the exact Yeti cooler the lucky winner will receive, with graphics of the cooler's specifications.
For this giveaway, I was in charge of keeping track of and recording submission results. When submissions were closed, I sent the records to my supervisor to select and notify the winner.
A social media post with a video, a landing page for social media users, and an email to existing customers are included.
November and December's distribution featured a free blanket for every order over a certain dollar amount. I wanted the design to reflect fall and winter, so I found an image of trees with fall leaves and snow on the ground. I added a snow effect to the video to further reflect winter. When it came to the messaging, our focus was on gratitude for our customers and embracing the warmth of the holiday season.
A social media post with a video, a landing page for social media users, and an email to existing customers are included.
Notable day posts feature an image representing the day's importance and a banner at the bottom with flavor text from Whitlock. The photo displays an appropriate warm-hearted image with a message reflecting the sentiment. Whitlock's short identifier accompanies the banner, so the audience can see the brand without reading the profile name. The banner color is the brand's burgundy color to keep the posts consistent.
Written content was a collaborative effort, while I handled the design independently. Below are some notable day posts:
I created all the vector-based social media posts from scratch, including designs for St. Patrick's Day, Native American Day, and New Year's. I also handled the typography layout for each post. The photography and videos used were sourced from Adobe Stock.
I am currently developing my skills in creating marketing strategies and maintaining a professional tone. This involves collaborating within a team to brainstorm and refine campaign concepts. Based on feedback, I make a production schedule and ensure all assets are completed on time for launch. I also manage multiple project responsibilities, prioritizing tasks based on importance, and I am continuously refining this skill.
In this role, I'm actively learning to prepare files for digital print production, materials include flyers, templates, brochures, business cards, saddle stitch books, and more. As part of the imposition process, I'm gaining experience in identifying and correcting errors in artwork to ensure it is properly set up for production.
