BRAND IDENTITY

WINTER 2020

What Was Asked:

Anima Unite was an expansion from a previous fictitious project about how zoo animals have gained higher cognitive function through pills that increase animals' intelligence. The goal of this project was to expand on a world or product we have previously created.

The Outcome:

The solution of this project was to create a brand system around a non-profit organization that shows how animals and humans can work together, even when each side doesn't see eye to eye. Along with the brand guidelines, I created apparel and an example of a monthly zine the organization would distribute.

This project was a lot of fun because I was able to narrate my own world around the brand I designed. Creating a world where zoo animals gain intelligence, then protest to gain civil rights, is a bit far fetched but it was a fun narrative to explore!

Because humans and animals are working together, I created designs for t-shirts and lanyards. This way, humans and animals that can wear shirts have the ability to do so, while the animals that can not will have lanyards instead. The colors indicate different positions in the organization. It was interesting but fun to make mock-ups of animals wearing apparel!

This would be a monthly or quarterly zine that would be available free for members or for purchase if you're not. The zine would discuss some behavioral habits that explain why the featured animals act the way they do, so that everyone can better understand each other.
